ok, this is going to be my long long official post for obs. :)day 1 found out that i was in battuta (grp 1) with Leader Danae, Michelle n Ling Yi. :D then we went to the more ulu ulu obs campsite n everyone was kinda disappointed cause we were not going to the nice nice chalet-like campsite. but in the end, turn out that the place quite nice n big n my grp chopped a place in one corner of the mph. then we were given our roles n happy food! :) its suppose to be eaten when u are feeling tired or sad cause eating it will make u happier. lol. then had trust fall activity n tent pitching! haha, the pegs were soooo small compared to the np ones but the tent was still knida similar to the np one only smaller. then learnt how to cook rice in the open n did belaying. n all the cedarians were not use to the obs way of belaying cause it was diff n more tiring too. n we were all like overturning other ppl's helmets cause they kept placing it the wrong way up. then dinner, then walked up to ulu ulu campsite, where there were tons of mosquitoes!day 2pt! had games n 5 bx, then morining briefing..unpitch tents....packed for land expedition...then something else i cant remember...then had kayaking! :D haha i was in boat 6 with soonkeat n syafiq, n had capsize drill!!! super fun! :) then tracked up to nice nice campsite which was really cool n even more bigger! there was this really big pirate boat that turned out to be a high elements course! be4, that, climbed 31m up to pitch tents...so high. then had rock wall. lingyi was super good at climbing the rock wall! she managed to climb to the second jutting out part. haha but no one could compare to ahmad who had no choice but to climb all the way up the overhanging part cause his friends refused to let him down. lol. so in the end, gave battuta gave him the nickname, "the legend". then they provided us with super nice dinner, n everyone was beginning to wonder why we were being treated do nicely. then hiked up to campsite. haha then michelle's stomach was making funny noises in the tent.day 3unpitched tents in the dark! wow, never done that be4, even in np. then pt, then had land expedition! which was super tiring cause we were walking aorund with super humungous n heavy backpacks (13kg!!!) for the whole morining. Ledar Danae was the i/c for that day and i think that she did a really good job. even though we did get a little lost but it must have not been easy for her to perservere on and keep on going despite everyone's complaints. THANK YOU LEADER DANAE! you were n awesome navigator! i did pacing for most of the journey, haha so i was calculating n doing maths along the way to keep track of the distance that we had covered. then had rafting at the quarry! our grp won for the best design!all thnks to bin who came up with the idea! :)then jumped n swam in the quarry!!!!!!!!!!! :D which was veryyyyyyy deep. then went to super ulu ulu campsite n pitched tents. had to use rocks to hold down the tent cause the ground was too hard for us to peg in the pegs. then cooked in the dark! our food was scattered all over the place cause we couldn't see anything. then hadto wash all the utensils in the ocean! then the 4 of us ( Leader danae, michelle, lingyi n me) had to go toilet in the ulu ulu part near the ocean. ewwww. took turns but it was super scary cause it was so dark n we could hear wild boar sounds behind us!!! then while waiting for each other, we were talking about how we would have to climb up the fence which was next to us if a wild boar really did appear. lol. sentry duty was super hilarious. we wlked one round n then ended up slacking n facing the ocean n just crapping about random stuff. then two guys came out of their tent n we were wondering what they were doing n were trying to scare them by shining our torchlights n waving our dogsticks at them. ended up they just had to go to the ulu ulu toilet. then lingyi thought that their torchlight was a fire fly. haha lol.at night something happen! it rained and our tent collapsed in the middle of the night! ahhhhh! had to hold onto the tent pole but in the end couln't hold on any longer and had to go out in the rain to secure the tent cause the twine had slipped from the rocks. then could hear all sorts of funny noises form the jungle behind us n music form the disco across the sea from Malaysia!day 4sea expedition!!!!!!!!!!!! michelle was one of the sea ex leaders! :) was SUPER DUPER FUN N EXHILERATING N TIRING!!!!!!!!! kayaked for 6 hours to the first campsite that we were at on day 1. n we kayaked past the np campsite! :) went past check jawa n the many kelongs along the way. could even hear barking sounds coming from one of the kelongs went we accidentally went too near. the waves were awsome! n we were all looking forward to the big ones. instructors even helped to create some waves for us using their speed boat. haha. most of us had to pee in the ocean. kinda ewww but no choice cause we were paddling for so long. me, soonkeat n syafiq's boat was alw at the fornt when everyone was paddling but then when we were resting, we would alw drift to the back, n then paddle like mad n end up at the fornt of the grp again. when we finally reached the campsite everyone almost fell when we came out of our kayaks cause our legs were all wobbly n like jelly. then at night most of the cedarians squeezed into one tent n talked about our day. :)day 5!we had a surprise last activity! JETTY JUMP!!!!!!! :D n trust jump! jetty jump was scary for me cause had to overcome my fear of heights n water at the same time. but i m glad i did it. :) n we saw jelly fish! then packed up n we had our last debrief which was very sad, cause some ppl cried n we were all sharing about our feelings and how we would miss battuta. thnk u battuta for being the best grp ever n for making my obs an experience that i would never forget. n thnk u Jesus, miss poon n Leaders for giving me this chance to go to obs. through this camp, i've learnt not to judge a book by its cover n so much more. that when u feel like u are on the verge of dying, of giving up just tell urself, one more step n u will be able to do it. what seems impossible can become possible n no matter how strong u think u might be, u will alw need friends along ur journey. :D
n today had drill prac with nike! :D jia you nike, together, we can n we will do it!!!!
